about

Reissued in memoriam of the late Naoki Yonekura for the first time as a digital download from an original 2001 limited edition CDR. (7/10)

This music was produced spontaneously at Zero in Gokiso. I suppose it was recorded and released some time in 2001, maybe 2002. Perhaps some records will eventually reveal this data.

Sitting languishing in the Low&Slow.Disk archive, thought to be too full of mistakes, and poor execution for expanded public consumption, a review upon hearing of Naoki's death last night, revealed a revised impression. This truly raw ("nama") performance with only some between song edits, shows two musicians confident in taking chances while finding spaces for one another in unrehearsed duets between Naoki's bar tending duties. The tap of bongos can be heard from across the room, emphasizing the inclusive environment, and occasionally voices, or the breaking of ice document the intimate atmosphere on this evening in the Gokiso neighborhood of Nagoya, Japan.
