Fish Creek Shuffle I was born on the north fork and I lived there most of my life The hills they were my playground and the stars they filled my nights Went walkin' down the stream one day and nearly caught a fright There was a man hip deep in water staring right back up at me I said, "Hey there fella, what'choo say?" and this is what he said to me. He said, "Hey yeah." Years went by and I moved from there to try and better my life. Went walkin' down the streets each day and still I don't know why. Some folks I'd stop and talk to while the others I'd just let pass. All the ones that had some time for me had the same thing for to say. You know they said, "Hey yeah." As time moved on I went back to the place now of my youth Went walkin' down the stream and don't ya know I'm tellin' the truth There was a man hip deep in water starin' right back up at me He said, "Hey there fella, what'choo say?" And this is what I said to him. You know I said, "Hey, yeah." Now I See Wheels are turnin'. Wheels are spinnin'. Why did I plug you into all of this? Now I see what was on your mind. It was so difficult before. So I turned my back on you and returned to my obsession. Leaving the space between us a long and ever widening. Now I see what was on your mind. It was so difficult before. Now with this new way I can see the doors are slamming shut
